JBOD (Just a Bunch Of Disks/Drives)

JBOD historically has had a couple different definitions, but recently has started to fall under one definition. JBOD is used in reference to a system that has each individual disk show up as an individual logical volume on the computer. For example a 4 bay unit populated with drives, will have 4 logical drives show up on the computer. You do not need matching drives.
