Two Parts -- I. I had really hoped that the UDA would allow me to connect some of my ATAPI Zip 100 drives (from my old PPC PowerMacs) to my Intel Mac Mini. Unfortunately, it was a no go. Despite trying both an original ATAPI Zip 100 (ie ATAPI1) and a later ATAPI2 Zip 100, the UDA would not mount nor even recognize the drive. I also tried it with a Windows Box using an MS-DOS formatted Zip disk, but it wouldn't mount on Windows 10 either. I did find some comments on a YouTube video that was reviewing several brands of ATAPI/ATA/IDE to USB adapters that only Zip 100 drives containing 'ATAPI3' in the part number would work. As I didn't have any of those, I really can't say. II. I also had a Maxtor DiamondMax ATA/133 hard drive that I was certain would mount. Following the instructions, I put the drive's jumper in the 'Master' position. The drive would not mount. Fortunately, in the FAQ's for another brand adapter (that used the same chipset) they mentioned trying the Maxtor's jumper in the Cable Select (CS) position. That did the trick! Overall, I'm happy with the UDA in that I can mount my old Maxtor ATA drives. I only wish it would have worked with my ATAPI Zip drives.
